About Us
Welcome to our Nursery School and Children's Centre
“Our experience at Rebecca Cheetham has been amazing, my daughter is always happy to come to nursery in the mornings. I enjoy listening to all her stories about her day, seeing her develop her skills and understanding. She loves all her teachers and has also made so many friends at Rebecca Cheetham. ”
A Rebecca Cheetham Parent
We are an Ofsted judged Outstanding nursery school that caters for 2, 3 and 4 year old children; we offer government funded places for 2 year olds, 3 and 4 year olds and the 30 hours, as well as flexible paid extended day places which are competitively priced. We also have a children’s centre that offers a myriad of different activities for the people in our community and have been named co-lead for the United West Family Hub alongside Kay Rowe Nursery School.
Our staff are caring, enthusiastic and have the right knowledge and expertise for working with children under five; they know how to get the very best out of your children and are more than happy to share that knowledge with you.
We have wonderful open spaces for children to roam and explore and we provide a large variety of activities based around the interests of your children. We also have an ambitious programme of educational visits on offer to help expose your child to a variety of wonderful hands on experiences, such as visits to the farm, places of worship, the seaside and local parks and shops.
Rebecca Cheetham children are happy, curious and enjoy their experience at nursery. They form close relationships with their key workers and leave our setting curious, imaginative and ready to tackle the learning opportunities thrown at them when they move to Reception.
Our curriculum is something we are very proud of here at Rebecca Cheetham Nursery School. Our team have a strong knowledge of Development Matters and how to best support children's development through the exciting training opportunities afforded them, such as expert training in Communication and Language led by the East London Research School. In response to Development Matters and the Birth to Five Matters non-statutory documentation, we have developed our own curriculum that is evolved from those two documents which we call, Learning Aspirations. Have a look and see what kinds of things we think it is important for your child to develop while they are here with us.
Our Best Start In Life Children’s Centre do fantastic work in our community neighbourhood and sessions are always busy and a fantastic opportunity for you to bond with your child, get some parenting advice and build your support networks.
We proudly work in close partnership with The Tapscott Learning Trust and Newham Nursery Schools. We also work with private, voluntary and independent childcare settings in sharing good practice and our Deputy Head, Mandy, is a trained auditor in ITERS (Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale).
